Hazard Hustle

About Hazard Hustle

A daily practice game for construction safety. Ten OSHA 30-style questions a day, about three minutes, and a crew leaderboard to keep it friendly and competitive.

How scoring works

  • Correct answer: 100 points plus up to 50 for speed. You get 20 seconds per question.
  • Showing up: 50 points just for starting the day's run.
  • Streak multiplier: each consecutive workday adds 0.1× to your question points, up to 1.5×. Weekends don't break a streak; missing a weekday does.
  • Perfect 10/10: 200 bonus points, multiplied too.
  • One run per day. It resets at midnight your local time. Leaving partway keeps what you've earned.

The server keeps the clock and does all the scoring. You get a 1.5-second grace for network lag, so the full speed bonus holds for your first moment of reading. Answers, explanations and citations show up only after you answer.

Your workday streak counts consecutive weekdays played. Saturdays and Sundays never break it, and playing on a weekend still adds to it. Missing a Monday through Friday resets it to 1 the next time you play.

The questions

Every question cites its source. Most cite the federal construction standards in 29 CFR Part 1926. Others cite related rules (29 CFR 1904 recordkeeping, 1910 general industry, 1903 and 1977), the OSH Act, or OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI and NFPA guidance. Everyone gets the same ten questions, in the same order, on the same date in their own time zone.
